It all started when the very first student comic con event took place at MEC , year 2017, dubbed as COMEC, a group of people gathered to have a fun and safe time doing what they do best and that is to indulge in all things pop-culture, yet still we were just a bunch of individuals just enjoying the vibes presented to us and not yet thought of creating an official community, fast forward to 2019, when we realized we needed to create a safe space for everyone to indulge and hype one another and verbally support each other, of course it took 2 years and a few events to come to this decision, COMEC 2nd , 3rd and 4th edition, 968gameZ 1st year and 2nd year and the only IGN convention that happened even before all that.

And since the unity of minds and vibes, we have managed to create moments to grow as one, such events include but not limited to:

Vox Premiers for The Nun, Frozen 2 and Spiderman, we might be presented with more chances to sparkle for the cinema viewing, we organized a few Halloween gatherings, for all the spooky fans, and provided seasoned Cosplayers to judge competitions for the previous 968gameZ events, even hosted events and competitions including hosting our international cosplayers that come to the country for the events and make sure they are taken care of, the same way they take care of the envoys from our team that travel to their respective countries to attend their events.

Fun fact, we also hosted 2 giveaways, cute little gifts to show our gratitude to the community.

One of our proudest moment was hosting the cosplay competition for the 2024’s 968gameZ cosplay competition, representing the community in UAE’s MEFCC, Bahrain’s BCC, hosting Anime Day at Suika Café, Hosting the 2019 and 2024 Halloween, 2025’s first gathering at LaGuna , 2 Beach BBQ Hangouts, hosting game nights on our Discord server, while planning online and offline activities.

Our 2025 goal is to host more mini meet ups to help everyone get closer, buildup connection, guide the new cosplayers or help make interested people realise how they can plan their ideas, hopefully buildup to a bigger events which would in turn help with pushing the country’s economy by providing spaces for private business and general business to practice their work and services, that amongst other things.
